What do you think of France's partial ban on the burqa?
Is this freedom?
Is this partial ban to preserve France's national identity? Protect the beret !! :)
Would this be an issue in the U.S.?
Oh, this opens up so many issues and I don't think there's an easy answer.
I have thought about it a lot actually and I don't think a ban could ever happen here-legally or otherwise.
ReplyDeleteIt is very interesting in Europe right now. Most labor is done by immigrants, a vast majority practice the muslim religion. The Europeans wanted all this cheap labor ( who have become a huge majority of their pop.) but they don't want what comes with it. Huge social and cultural differences. The US should watch and learn.
Personally, I am not threatened by the burqa. I do think security wise it might be an issue... You know, like how do you identify the criminal if you don't see the face?
